He desperately sought refuge in Tehilah, a town situated in the area of Judah, yet his kin was so determined to raise themselves in the eyes of the rich and powerful that they exposed him to Saul's forces. Caught in an inevitable trap, David felt no mercy over his abandonment and felt betrayed, he seemed to blame Samuel the Prophet for not intervening to protect him although he was the one who had previously anointed David as the promised king.
